Ako Salemi, a renowned photographer and filmmaker based in the United States. With over a decade of experience as a photojournalist and photo editor for esteemed Iranian newspapers, Salemi has transitioned his focus to documentary photography and filmmaking for international publications.

As a co-founder of the acclaimed iPhone photography collective ‘Hikari Creative,’ Salemi’s work has garnered recognition and accolades from prestigious organizations. Notably, one of his photographs was featured among Time Magazine’s 29 defining Instagrams of the world in 2014. Salemi has also received honorable mentions from Instagram-Getty Images grants in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, Salemi was honored with the Persephone Miel Fellowship of the Pulitzer Center for his proposal on the climate change crisis in Iran.
